Pricing mission

We have two missions when it comes to our pricing. First, we want to lower the barrier of entry for people to begin their martial arts journey by having the most affordable prices in town WITHOUT compromising on  value and quality. Second, we seek to be transparent with our pricing. We hate it (and suspect you do too) when businesses try to hide how expensive something is going to be. As is the case with many sports, tuition is not the only cost you can expect, and we’ve done our honest best to list any other things you can expect to pay for here.

Tuition

NO ANNUAL CONTRACTS
TINY TIGERS (Ages 3-5)
  • T/Th: $55 per month
  • W: $45 per month
TIGER CUBS (Ages 6-10)
  • M/W or T/Th: $60 per month
TIGER TEENS (Ages 11-17)
  • T/W/Th: $70 per month
ADULTS (Ages 18+)
  • T/Th daytime: $60 per month
  • T/W/Th evening: $70 per month

Additional Fees

  1. Promotion Fees. From Yellow Stripe through Purple Belt, the Belt Test Fee is $45. From Red Belt through Gray Belt, it’s $60. For Black Belt, it’s $500. You pay each fee one time, and it covers all promotion materials. (Please note that no promotions or fees occur for our Tiny Tigers Ages 3-5.)
  2. Starting Fees. For everybody EXCEPT Tiny Tigers, I do require that you purchase a gi (karate uniform) and sparring gear right at the start. This can cost anywhere from $200-$300+ depending on how nice of gear you want to purchase. You can find plenty of options online, or reach out to me to purchase them through--and support--the dojo. Tiny Tigers will be required to buy only a T-shirt.
  3. Tournament Fees. For ages 6+. Anywhere from $40-$150 per tournament. We aim to host two small, in-school tournaments twice a year, which we encourage all students to participate in. Additionally, we invite some of our students to join us at the occasional state-level tournament. No single tournament is required, though some of our belts require prior tournament experience. Students should plan to participate in at least five tournaments by the time they reach Black Belt.
  4. Additional Equipment Fees. Throughout your time, you may wish to purchase additional karate gis, nicer sparring gear, or additional weapons. These can often be ordered through Tiger Den Dojo at a discounted price or through other retailers. We also sell optional dojo merchandise including headbands, T-shirts, and knapsacks.
  5. Black Belt Club Fee. Once you join the Black Belt Club (available at Green Belt and beyond), you will pay a one-time fee of $50.00. Joining the Black Belt club is optional in the intermediate ranks, but is required for Red Belt and above.​
